Integrative Health is all about balance
Let’s start with the basics: What the heck is an integrative health practitioner!?
Good question! As an Integrative Health Practitioner I look for underlying root causes to restore balance in an unbalanced body that lead to symptoms you may be experiencing.
From there, I put together a personalised wellness plan, including supplements, diet, and exercise protocols, that is unique to each person’s body and lifestyle.
All of my health and wellness programs incorporate seven integrative disciplines:
Wansima’s Story…
When one’s health is out of balance, their mind and body out of sync, it can feel downright hopeless.
It’s a feeling I know only too well.
To tell the story behind Wansima Rapp—to understand the genesis behind my career as an integrative health practitioner—we have to start with what got me into integrative health in the first place.
It’s called ankylosing spondylitis, a form of arthritis.
I was diagnosed in 2010 in the middle of a prolonged battle with extreme sickness, daily bouts of fatigue, and very little hope that I’d ever be well again. There were stretches of time that I required crutches to walk; other days, I could not get out of bed at all.
Specialist after specialist, doctor after doctor—no physician could offer me a long-term remedy. Sound familiar? Every time I’d walk away with nothing but short-term prescription for damaging pain medication.
As determined as I was not to let my condition define me, there were definitely moments where I felt ashamed to tell people what I was going through. But I certainly didn’t give up on finding an answer!
In the years after my diagnosis, I spent a small fortune trying alternative medicines and different specialists. At one point, I traveled to Germany to stay at a wellness clinic for a week of recovery (at this point, my legs had swollen up to the point I had to have wheelchair assistance at the airport to get between flights).
I was desperate to take my life back from this disease!
The last straw came when I had a bad flare up during my pregnancy, my son was born 7 weeks premature and the doctors predicted this could have been the causing factor. That moment of becoming a mum, that feeling of immense responsibility for a new life, convinced me that it was finally time to make the change I sought within.
That’s when I came across Dr Stephen Cabral, the teacher and mentor who introduced me to integrative health. To have 20 years experience helping people resolve underlying root health causes and be considered a leader in the integrative health and functional industry without spending a cent on advertising, proved to me his protocols really do work.
As I studied his practices, I not only learned to help others find mind and body balance, but I too began to heal. Fast forward to today and you’ll find a symptom-free Wansima Rapp—I’m in much better shape and loving life again!
This is all to say that I get it. To go from hopelessness, dissatisfaction, and pain—things you might be feeling right now—to complete renewal can seem daunting. And when I tell you that it all started when I took the leap and ordered my first five labs, I understand your skepticism.
But my problem wasn’t something that could be addressed only by conventional doctors and specialists. The same old tests and pain pills only made things worse. To address my problem, I had to get at deep-seated imbalances that ran far deeper than any pill, gimmick, or exercise program could reach.
Now, my mission in life is to help you do the same.
